Course Requirements for Enrolled Students

Graduate students may take the CHD Seminar for course credit (1, 2, or 4 units) by enrolling in COGS260 (winter quarter 2009: section ID 639679).

For 4 units (S/U or Letter Grade)

  1. You must attend a minimum of 7 out of the 9 talks
  2. Read the designated chapters for each week
  3. Collaboratively (i.e., with other members of the class) prepare and lead one day of discussion
  4. Write an 8-10 page final paper on a topic of your choice related to the seminar

For 2 units (S/U or Letter Grade)

  1. You must attend a minimum of 7 out of the 9 talks
  2. Read the designated chapters for each week
  3. Write 3 short critical commentaries (2 page max) of any 3 different assigned chapters

For 1 units (S/U option only)

  1. You must attend a minimum of 7 out of the 9 talks
  2. No papers required
